Xbox 360 resolution settings?

Ok I have a 1080p LCD and the new 360 games are coming in 1080p resolution and I got the 360 that
doesn’t have the HDMI connection, so I bought component HD cables and some people say component can’t do 1080p, but on the HD component box it says 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p support, so can I leave it at 1080p? it does say 1080p running on my TV. thanks.

The cables do work on 1080p, but you have to check if your HDTV plays 1080p through component as some (like Sonys) will only do 1080p on HDMI.
